Characterising Modal Behaviour of a Cantilever Beam at Different Heating Rates for Isothermal Conditions

چکیده

The effect of temperature on structural response is a concern in engineering applications. literature has highlighted that applied loads change the system vibration behaviour. However, there limited information available about impacting dynamic response. This paper investigated heating rates effects modal parameters for both with crack and without conditions cantilever beam. A beam subjected to three was considered: 2, 5, 8 °C/min. first one assumed as slow rate while others were moderate high, respectively. controlled achieved by using proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. results showed at different little impact parameters. While this minimal lower temperatures more evident higher temperatures. ramped °C/min compared numerical analytical only all isothermal conditions. It observed natural frequency its amplitude decrease increase depths. Therefore, it concluded can make slight dynamics any mechanical system.

PREDICTION OF HOT DEFORMATION BEHAVIOUR OF A PH STAINLESS STEEL AT HIGH STRAIN RATES

In this study the hot deformation behaviour of a precipitation hardened (PH) stainless steel at high strain rates has been predicted through hot compression testing. Stress-strain curves were obtained for a range of strain rates from 10-3 to 10+1 S-1 and temperatures from 850 to 1150°C. Results obtained by microstructure and stress-strain curves show that at low temperatures and high strain rat...

Neurocontrol of a Cantilever Beam

The civil engineering community is currently moving towards the continuous monitoring of civil structures in order to forecast their unavoidable failure with enough precision. So-called smart technologies seem to be well adapted to this specific task. For a civil structure, such as a bridge or a dam, a monitoring smart system often includes a set of sensors, whose data is passed onto a controll...

Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of a cantilever beam with nonlinear geometry

Analyzing the nonlinear vibration of beams is one of the important issues in structural engineering. According to this, an impressive analytical method which is called Modified Iteration Perturbation Method (MIPM) is used to obtain the behavior and frequency of a cantilever beam with geometric nonlinear. This new method is combined by the Mickens and Iteration methods. Moreover, this method don...
